A Print Revolution

A Print RevolutionWhen it comes to spring 2011 women’s clothing fashion we are seeing a surge of colour on the catwalks; these hot popping hues come in super bright shades and crazy prints.  If this season’s fashion doesn’t shake you out of the gloom of the past season’s weather, we don’t know what will!

We are certainly seeing a warmer set of trends for 2011; colours proving to be popular on the catwalks include pillar-box statement reds, bright grass greens, popping purple hues and canary yellow.  These hot hues can however be toned down and by no means do they have to be worn all at once.  For a subtle look wear one bold shade with a subtler colour such as white, black, blue or beige.

There appears to be no season more than the present one to have embraced colour in such a way.  Designers have gone crazy for bright shades this spring and in turn combined bright blues, crayola pinks, poppy citrus, electric and aqua marine blues and burnt oranges and yellows.  All look great and certainly make a statement when teamed with the sharp contrast of black.

There has also been a little bit of a prints revolution for 2011; check out Muccia Prada for a little style inspiration.  Quirky patterns and popping prints adorned models left, right and centre on the catwalks and many were seen wearing leopard, python and polka dot patterns.  However, if you wish to create a look a little less tame then look no further than the fashion house Rochas.  The designer employed the help of a Swedish artist in order to create a series of illustrations and patterns that were painted straight onto the garments.  These mixed up prints and quirky illustrations were created in bright canary yellow and orange shades on a sheer black fabric, you certainly won’t go amiss when wearing one of these creations!

Such a look is great for a festival and you will most definitely be noticed in the crowds in such popping patterned attire! You can also check out Joe Browns who are featuring bold colours and patterns this season.
